What it Takes: Hosting Shabbat Dinner

Ages 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s+
What it Takes: How to Host an Epic Shabbat Dinner

Whether you feel you don’t know enough about Shabbat, live in a small or shared space, or are lacking culinary confidence, hosting a meaningful Shabbat dinner is easier than you’d think. Rabbi Aaron, your host with the most, will cover why the practice of Shabbat can be a value-add to your week, walk you through how to perform Friday night rituals, and share hosting tips—inspired by Priya Parker’s book The Art of Gathering—so you’ll be ready to channel your inner Ina Garten. And for the record, store bought challah is fine.

Copies of the Priya Parker’s book The Art of Gathering is available for purchase ahead of time, to be picked up at the start of the class.

No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Director of Jewish Life, Nathan, at nbrodsky@sixthandi.org

Registration for this class ends at 3:00 pm on August 26, 2024.
