Shmaltz Brewing Company is an American craft brewing company headquartered in Troy, New York, US. Originally primarily known for its He’Brew flagship brand, the company produces a large line of Shmaltz Brewing beers and numerous other brands including 518/838 craft beers and the Alphabet City Brewing brand.

In 2022, Jesse Epstein purchased Shmaltz Brewing Company from Jeremy Cowan (Founder) after 25 Years of Quality, Community and Shtick! Jesse plans to revamp Shmaltz with a greater focus on social justice and Jewish practice.

While distribution is currently on hold, Shmaltz will be hosting a series of pop-up events in 2023.  At these events we plan to build community, talk justice, study text – all over a pint of beer.
