LGBTQ+ and Allies Shabbat with Eshel
This week, we are partnering with Eshel, and invite LGBTQ+ individuals and Allies to join us for Shabbat services and dinner.
Shabbat at Temple 5
Hope doesn’t always arrive as certainty. Sometimes it shows up as a table, a song, and people willing to sit together. Join us this Shabbat at Temple 5 for an evening of presence, care, and community.
For Such a Night as This: Purim in Harlem
Once, in a palace not so far away, the world turned upside down.
A queen found her voice. Power changed hands.
There was feasting, foolishness, danger, and song.
This year, we gather for
a night of reversals.
Of old stories told a little sideways.
A little palace intrigue,
And a lot of holy chaos.
Come celebrate survival.
Come celebrate the turning of things.
Come exactly as you are,
or as someone else, just for the night.
6:15pm – Doors and Schmoozing
6:29pm – Fast ends
6:30pm – Maariv and Megillah Reading
Afterward – Revelry, joy, feasting, a Fiddler on the Roof themed Spiel, and “the message of the hour”
We will serve a bevy of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as a sushi dinner 🍣. Costumes are encouraged!
