• Tribe 12 & YALA Pre-Fast Dinner & Service

    Join Tribe 12 and YALA (USY’s alumni organization) to begin Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonment, as a community. We will be serving an early pre-fast dinnner starting at 4:30 pm, followed by a welcoming musical and accessible Kol Nidre Service at 6 PM. Services will be followed by an opportunity to connect to the themes of the holiday through introspective discussion, meditation and learning. All are welcome regardless of background, and we welcome folks new to Kol Nidre!

  • Nice Jewish Girls Who Read

    Join the NJG’s for their September Meeting. This month’s book is “People of the Book” by Geraldine Brooks. The NJGs (Nice Jewish Girls) Who Read book club is a group of young women who have a shared love for reading and want to be able to meet friends while discussing great books! The goal is to pick fun books written by Jewish female authors, or that have storylines featuring Jewish female protagonists. Address for the event will be sent out via email after registration. It is in Center City Philadelphia.

  • Judaism and Feminism

    Class participants will have a chance to choose class topics. There will also be a chance to learn about local organizations working on feminist issues and connect with their leaders. All are welcome to participate as long as they come with an open mind and heart. The cost of this cohort is $36 and dinner will be included in each session! No one will be turned away if they are unable to pay. If you have any questions please reach out to Megan to learn more! The class will meet on 4 Tuesday nights (Oct 8, 15, 29 and Nov 12th, one Thursday Oct 23rd for a Feminist Dinner party and one Shabbat dinner November 8th).

  • Save the Date: Rosh Hashanah Dinner

    Join Tribe 12 for Rosh Hashanah dinner. We will join at the Weitzman Museum of American Jewish History to celebrate bringing in the New Year and enjoy a vegetarian meal. with each other There will be light schmoozing when you arrive and we will gather for ritual and blessings at 6:45pm. There will be round tables set-up that seat up to 10 people and seating is open. Challah, grape juice, wine, water, seltzer, and a vegetarian meal will be provided. It will be buffet style. A more detailed menu will be provided the day before the event.

  • Tribe 12 & Reclaiming Ritual Grief Shabbat Oneg

    Join Tribe 12 and Reclaiming Ritual for a Grief Shabbat Oneg on Saturday, September 21st at 4pm at The Weitzman to honor a loss you’ve experienced as part of your Shabbat practice. We will share memories of those we’ve lost and engage in ritual to nurture our relationship with who/what has been lost. We’ll support one another in honoring our grief and knowing that we aren’t alone in our experiences. This space is open to people of all backgrounds who have experienced any kind of loss. People experiencing disenfranchised grief, including perinatal loss, pet loss, and family estrangement are very welcome. Please bring a snack to share!

After an amazing summer of inspiring and hilariously entertaining posts, UNAPOLOGETICALLY JEWISH, PJFM’s first-ever national social media contest, comes to a close on Opening Night of Digital Chutzpah 2024. This past summer, these immensely talented finalists took to their phones to spread Jewish positivity, taking extraordinary leaps to strengthen and foster bonds with Judaism. From comedy to original songs, poetry to Yiddish rhinestoning, intimate conversations with Israeli Jews post-October 7th and throwbacks to the Jewish singers we all know and admire today, these content creators never failed to entertain, delight, and move us with their creativity.
