About Jewish Federation of Cleveland
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland, founded in 1903, is the only organization in Cleveland that focuses on the health and vitality of the entire Jewish community. It supports a wide range of social service, educational, and humanitarian activities that strengthen Jewish life in Cleveland, Israel, and more than 70 countries worldwide.
The Federation’s mission is to promote the well-being of its community and Jews throughout the world; enhance the continuity, security, and unity of the Jewish community; increase understanding of Jewish values; and encourage members to fulfill their responsibilities to one another. Its guiding principles are to CARE for one another, PREPARE for the future, SHARE perspectives, and REPAIR the world.
Through its Young Leadership Division (YLD), the Federation connects Jewish young adults ages 22-45 to each other and to the community through social, volunteer, leadership, and philanthropic activities. YLD’s flagship LEADS program cultivates the next generation of Jewish communal leaders in Cleveland.
The Federation also organizes mission and travel experiences that take Clevelanders behind the scenes of the global Jewish community, advocates on behalf of the community with elected officials, and works closely with partner agencies and synagogues across Greater Cleveland.
