The Jewish Federation of Greater Portland is the central communal organization supporting Jewish life in the Greater Portland, Oregon area. Since 1920, it has served as the support system for the region’s Jewish journey, helping nourish Jewish life, enrich the community, and keep Jewish culture strong in Portland and around the world.
The Federation raises funds that support a broad network of local, national, and overseas organizations, and runs innovative programming that connects community members to Jewish life, education, and social services. It acts as a direct route to trusted services designed to make an effective and meaningful impact for individuals and families across the Jewish community.
Beyond fundraising, the Federation is involved in community security, engagement programming for newcomers to Portland, women’s philanthropy initiatives, leadership development, and publishing the Jewish Review, a community newspaper. It works to strengthen ties between the local Jewish community, the broader Jewish world, and Israel.
