Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles

Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles (JFSLA) is a nonprofit human services agency with roots going back over 170 years, providing life-improving services that help the people of Los Angeles live with dignity and self-determination. The agency welcomes and serves individuals and families of all ages, ethnicities, and religions, offering a full spectrum of care that includes food pantries and senior dining, domestic violence shelters and crisis hotlines, counseling and mental health services, immigration and refugee support, disability services, and senior/multipurpose centers.

Guided by Jewish values, JFSLA operates a wide network of programs such as the SOVA Community Food & Resource Program, the Jona Goldrich and Felicia Mahood multipurpose senior centers, and the Community Impact Network for young leaders and volunteers. The organization partners closely with the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and other community organizations to address challenges including homelessness, food insecurity, and poverty across the region.

JFSLA’s mission is to strengthen and preserve individual, family, and community life by providing a wide range of needed human services at every stage of the life cycle, with a particular emphasis on serving disadvantaged populations, both within the Jewish community and across the broader Los Angeles landscape.
