National Jewish Health

National Jewish Health, founded in 1899 in Denver, Colorado, is a nonprofit medical institution originally established to treat tuberculosis patients, many of whom were poor Jewish immigrants unable to access care elsewhere. Today it remains the only facility in the world dedicated exclusively to the research and treatment of respiratory, cardiac, immune, and related disorders, and it has been consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the country for pulmonology.

While rooted in Jewish philanthropic tradition and originally funded in part by B’nai B’rith, National Jewish Health operates as a non-sectarian institution, serving patients of all backgrounds from around the world. Its integrated approach combines cutting-edge scientific research with coordinated clinical care, and it partners with the University of Colorado Denver on medical education and training.

The organization is affiliated with U.S. News & World Report’s top-ranked hospitals for pulmonology, and it maintains a range of specialty and immediate care clinics on its Denver main campus as well as satellite locations.
