About Jewish Family Service of Metro Detroit

Since 1928, Jewish Family Service of Metro Detroit has served Detroit’s Jewish community, and today carries that work forward by serving all who come through its doors regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, culture, ability, or age. Through the efforts of its skilled staff, hundreds of volunteers, and Board of Directors leadership, JFS provides compassionate, personalized services tailored to the specific needs of each individual or family.

JFS offers more than 30 programs and numerous events centered around three core areas: services for older adults (including geriatric care management, caregiver support, and Retirement Reimagined), mental health and wellness (including a Crisis Response Team, suicide prevention, youth mental health programs, and a Training Institute), and basic needs assistance for individuals and families facing safety-net concerns. The agency also serves the Russian-speaking community and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), meeting internationally recognized organizational and program standards.

Headquartered in West Bloomfield, Michigan, JFS touches the lives of roughly 15,000 people each year across metro Detroit, offering resources, navigation, and direct services designed to ensure no one faces life’s challenges alone.
