About Gesher Human Services
Gesher Human Services is a bridge to hope and opportunity for people at work, at home, and in the community, serving metro Detroit through workforce development, behavioral health, and inclusion programming. The organization was formed in 2022 through the merger of JVS Human Services and Kadima Mental Health Services, two of the Detroit Jewish community’s most established human services agencies, combining over a century of combined experience.
With a network of more than 400 employees and volunteers across 25 locations in southeast Michigan, Gesher delivers a continuum of services and support that directly impacts thousands of individuals and families annually. Its programming spans career development, clinical and behavioral health services, residential and vocational support, and community day programs across Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties.
While Gesher meets the unique needs of the Jewish community and is a partner agency of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, it serves all Metro Detroiters regardless of faith or background. Its mission centers on giving every person an equitable opportunity to succeed at work, at home, and in the community.
