About Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services

Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services (Gulf Coast JFCS) is a nonsectarian, community-based nonprofit that began in 1960 providing counseling and family support to the Jewish community of Pinellas County, Florida, and was incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 1974. Headquartered in Clearwater, the agency now serves nearly 30,000 people annually across Greater Tampa Bay and beyond, with service centers throughout Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties and extension offices reaching into Miami-Dade, Broward, Polk, Sarasota, and other Florida counties.

While its reach has grown far beyond its original mission, Gulf Coast JFCS continues to honor its founding purpose of caring for the local Jewish community, including support for Holocaust survivors, alongside a broad human-services spectrum that spans behavioral and mental health, child welfare and adoption, family support, employment services, housing, food assistance, transportation, refugee resettlement, and home care for the elderly.

The agency’s mission — inspired by Jewish values, to protect the vulnerable, empower individuals, and strengthen families — guides its work with people of all ages, faiths, cultures, and identities, from babies to seniors, helping community members facing life challenges find safety, comfort, and a path toward a fulfilling life.
