JFSA

Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland (JFSA) is a nonprofit social service agency that has served the Greater Cleveland community since 1875, originally founded as the Hebrew Immigration Aid Society. Today JFSA helps individuals and families find solutions to life’s challenges with confidence, offering programs spanning mental health counseling, aging and senior services, disability services, domestic violence support, and food assistance through its Chesed Center food pantries.

With more than 500 staff members, JFSA serves thousands of clients each year throughout Northeast Ohio, addressing gaps in care for vulnerable populations including Holocaust survivors, older adults, people with disabilities, and families in crisis. The agency partners closely with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and other community organizations on initiatives such as the Holocaust Survivor Legacy Project and the Hear in Cleveland hearing-aid program.

JFSA’s mission is rooted in Jewish values of chesed (loving-kindness) and community responsibility, though its services are open to all in need regardless of religious background. The agency continues to evolve as an ‘agent of change’ in the region, adapting its programming to meet emerging needs in mental health, aging in place, and family support.
