About Jewish News Syndicate

Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), now also known as Jerusalem News Syndicate, is an independent, nonprofit news agency founded in 2011 that covers Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. It launched with an exclusive U.S. distribution deal with the Israeli daily Israel Hayom and has since grown into a major wire service supplying news, analysis, opinion, podcasts and multimedia content to more than 100 media outlets around the globe.

JNS is headquartered in San Diego, California, with additional news bureaus in Israel and the United States, and is led by CEO and Jerusalem Bureau Chief Alex Traiman alongside chief editor Jonathan S. Tobin. The organization positions itself as a trusted, fact-based alternative to what it views as media bias, providing coverage grounded in rigorous reporting on Israeli security, U.S.-Israel relations, antisemitism, culture and Jewish communal life.

While officially nonpartisan, JNS is generally viewed as more conservative and hawkish than its larger competitor, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Since the Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023, JNS has significantly expanded its video, podcast and syndication operations, describing itself as being on the front lines of the global media battle over Israel’s narrative.
