Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) is a nonsectarian, nonprofit human services agency serving the greater Denver and Boulder communities. Founded in 1872, JFS began as the Hebrew Ladies Benevolent Society and has grown into one of the most comprehensive continuums of care available in Colorado, guided by the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam—the obligation to repair the world.
Today JFS offers more than 30 programs and services, including food security, housing stability, mental health counseling, aging and older-adult support, employment services, refugee resettlement, chaplaincy and Jewish life programming, disability services, and even aeroponic farming. The agency takes a holistic, integrated approach, assessing the full range of needs of an individual or family and delivering appropriate services all under one roof.
JFS serves people of all faiths, races, ages, ethnicities, incomes, abilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations, and it continually evaluates evolving community challenges to adapt or develop new programs. Its mission is improving the lives of individuals and families in need throughout Colorado through an integrated approach to delivering comprehensive support services.
