Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA)

The Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) organizes the Jewish communities of Chicagoland to build power for racial and economic justice. For more than 60 years, JCUA has mobilized Jewish individuals to combat racism, antisemitism, poverty, and other forms of systemic oppression through grassroots community organizing, youth education programs, and community development.

JCUA partners with diverse community groups across Chicago and Illinois, envisioning a future where Jews and their neighbors live with mutual safety, shared dignity, and collective liberation, with the Jewish community serving as an integral partner in multiracial, multifaith coalitions for justice.

Programs include leadership development, an Organizing Fellowship for young adults to learn community organizing through a Jewish lens, and campaigns addressing economic and racial disparities in the region.
