About Jewish Family Service of Seattle

Jewish Family Service of Seattle (JFS) has been a helping hand in the Puget Sound region since 1892. Inspired by Jewish history and values, it supports Jewish individuals and families, refugees and immigrants, and the broader community. Its aim is to help people achieve well-being, health, and stability.

JFS provides direct services to people facing housing instability, financial hardship, food insecurity, social isolation, resettlement challenges, domestic violence, and physical and mental health needs. Its programs include short-term financial and rent assistance, the Polack Food Bank and other food access, older adult services, supportive living services, and refugee and immigrant services.

JFS also connects people through volunteering and community programs, such as its annual Community-Wide Food Drive and Food Sort. Its services are open to Jewish and non-Jewish neighbors alike. Its main office is on Seattle’s Capitol Hill.
