About Yad Vashem USA Foundation

Yad Vashem USA Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in New York. It provides philanthropic support for Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. Its stated mission is to support the memorialization of the Holocaust, awareness of it and education about it, as carried out by Yad Vashem.

The Foundation raises funds and builds a community of supporters across the United States. Donors can give by mail, through donor-advised funds, by gifts of securities, and through in-memory or in-honor tributes. It also has national committees, including one in South Florida.

The Foundation hosts public programs and commemorations, such as its annual “Spread the Light” Kristallnacht memorial in New York City. These events bring Yad Vashem’s leadership and mission to American audiences. It was established as a new U.S. nonprofit partner to Yad Vashem. It is separate from the American Society for Yad Vashem (ASYV), which states that it is no longer affiliated with Yad Vashem.
