About Herzl Camp
Herzl Camp is a welcoming, trans-denominational Jewish overnight camp. A group of Twin Cities Jews founded it in 1946, and it is rooted in Zionism. More than 30,000 campers have spent summers there. The camp sits on 150 acres on the shores of Devils Lake in Webster, Wisconsin.
Herzl runs a traditional camp program. Campers step away from electronics and spend their days outdoors. They play sports, make art, and take part in traditions such as Bikkurim (color wars) and Shabbat Caravan. Judaism and Israel education are part of daily life at camp. Each summer, Israeli campers and staff join the community.
Campers and staff come from Minnesota, Wisconsin and across the country. The camp offers scholarships and financial assistance so that more children can attend. Herzl is run by the nonprofit Herzl Camp Association, which has an administrative office in Golden Valley, Minnesota. It also offers alumni programming, a podcast, and staff and career opportunities.
