About Jewish Federation of Madison

Jewish Federation of Madison has helped enrich Jewish life and assist people facing hardship in Madison and around the world since 1940. It is part of the Jewish Federations of North America network. Its mission is to inspire, build and sustain vibrant Jewish life by fostering diverse opportunities for connection.

Locally, the Federation supports more than 20 programs and agencies. These include the Goodman Jewish Community Campus, University of Wisconsin Hillel, Chabad at UW, the Jewish Burial Association of Madison and Jewish Social Services. Through overseas partners, it also funds rescue, relief and development work for Jewish communities in Israel and 70 other countries.

The Federation runs and supports educational and recreational programs. These include the Hilde L. Mosse Gan HaYeled Preschool, Camp Shalom (a K-9 day camp founded in 1954), Midrasha Hebrew High School, family education, holiday programming and outreach. It also offers community programming for adults, such as Active Jewish Adults (50+) events, Shalom Madison (which welcomes new residents), the MadCAB leadership cabinet and a weekly Monday Morning News email.
