About Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia
Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia (JFCS) has served the region since 1855. Its mission is to strengthen families and individuals across generations and cultures to achieve stability, independence and community. It is headquartered at the Barbara and Harvey Brodsky Enrichment Center in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
JFCS offers a range of human services. These include counseling and mental health support, financial and emergency assistance, and in-home care for older adults and Holocaust survivors. It also provides support for people living with disabilities, foster care and adoption services through Open Arms Adoption Network, and spiritual support. Its LGBTQ Initiative provides trainings and coaching, and its Teen Empowerment Program develops young leaders.
The agency runs Our Closet, a free clothing program, and the mobile Our Closet In Your Neighborhood, which brings food, clothing and access to services to people across the Philadelphia region. JFCS has satellite offices in Philadelphia, Southern and Northern New Jersey, New York and Delaware.
