About Jewish California (formerly JPAC)
Jewish California, formerly the Jewish Public Affairs Committee of California (JPAC), is the nation’s largest statewide coalition of Jewish organizations. Founded in 1972, it has worked for more than 50 years toward a safe, just, and equitable California. It announced its new name and brand in February 2026.
The organization acts as the Jewish community’s voice in Sacramento. It uses the community’s collective strength and reach to advocate on legislation and policy for Jewish Californians and for all Californians. It also holds candidate forums, publishes a legislative scorecard, and meets with state officials on issues that matter to the community.
Its members are Jewish federations, community relations councils, and other Jewish organizations from across the state. They work together on a shared advocacy agenda at the State Capitol.
