About The Jerusalem Foundation, Inc.
The Jerusalem Foundation is an independent, non-partisan community foundation. Teddy Kollek founded it in 1966 to build world Jewry’s support for Jerusalem’s development. Its stated aim is to help Jerusalem’s diverse residents keep building a modern, open and vibrant city together.
The Foundation focuses on three areas: communal strength, creative culture and opportunities for future leadership. It pays particular attention to the social and communal needs of the city’s most vulnerable populations. Its projects span education, culture and the arts, coexistence, and community and neighborhood development.
The Jerusalem Foundation, Inc. is the US platform. It is based in New York and raises support from American donors for the Foundation’s work in Jerusalem. Affiliated Jerusalem Foundation entities also operate in other countries, including Canada and Austria.
