How our online speed dating works

1. Get your ticket

Right after you buy, Airmeet emails your personal link and a calendar invite.

2. Join from your laptop

Log in a few minutes early on a laptop or desktop, set up a quick profile if you like, and say hi in the Social Lounge.

3. Go on 5-minute dates

Our host welcomes everyone, then you’re paired for a series of private video dates — just long enough to see if there’s a spark.

4. Get your matches

Tell us who you’d like to see again. The next day, we email you the first name and email of everyone you mutually matched with.

In 1998, Rabbi Yaacov Deyo introduced speed dating at a Peet’s Coffee in Beverly Hills, using a gragger — the noisemaker from Purim — as the signal to switch partners.

His goal was to introduce Jewish singles with “maximum efficiency.” The idea took flight and was shared with the world — call it an act of zechus, the merit created by a good deed. Today Jewish speed dating events take place in cities across the country, and online.

What is Jewish speed dating?

A series of short one-on-one dates with Jewish singles in your age range. After each round you move to the next person. At the end you say who you’d like to see again, and when the interest is mutual, you both get each other’s contact details.

How does Tribester’s online speed dating work?

Our events run on Airmeet. After you buy a ticket, Airmeet emails you a personal link. On the night, our host welcomes everyone and you’re paired for private 5-minute video dates. The next day we email your mutual matches.

Can I join from my phone?

Please use a laptop or desktop computer with the Chrome browser. Airmeet doesn’t work well on phones or tablets. There’s nothing to download.

Who can attend?

Jewish singles within the event’s age range. Each event lists its ages, and some events run two age groups at the same time.
