Jews of Denmark: A Virtual Tour of Jewish Copenhagen
February 12, 2023 @ 9:00 pm - February 13, 2023 @ 10:30 pm CET
This conversation explores the history of Jewish Copenhagen: the triumphs, sorrows, and legacies of those who have long called Denmark home. We’ll explore important locations throughout the city, such as the Great Synagogue. We’ll discuss World War ll and understand how 95% of the community were saved from the Holocaust. We’ll learn about Jewish life in Copenhagen today, the issue of antisemitism, and the terror attack on a synagogue in 2015. This presentation will deepen participants’ understanding of Jewish Copenhagen, its history, its struggles, and insight into what it was and what it is to be Jewish in Denmark.
With your contribution you will also be donating to Budapest’s Jewish Community campaign in support of Ukrainian refugees in Hungary.
