NJDS Sukkah Festival Interfaith Urban Ag. Garden Workday

Rooted in Sukkot’s themes of harvest, shelter, and shared responsibility, Harvesting Hope, led by JUF’s Jewish Community Relations Council and the Chicago Sukkah Design Festival, will bring faith communities together to explore how urban agriculture can advance food security and bridge-building across Chicago. The program will spotlight organizations and houses of worship using gardens as tools for community care, beginning with a brief panel discussion and followed by a hands-on garden clean-up and tree planting at Stone Temple Baptist Church. Together, these elements will give attendees both a deeper understanding of the values behind the work and a tangible way to participate in local efforts that nourish bodies, strengthen relationships, and cultivate hope.
