Trybal Midwest is a premier four-day, three-night summer camp experience for adults located on the shores of Lake of the Woods in Decatur, Michigan, halfway between Chicago and Detroit. The retreat combines lakeside serenity with high-energy camp programming, featuring over 50 customizable activities including traditional camp games, water sports, wellness classes, creative workshops, and evening entertainment.
Accommodations include modern cabins with bunk beds or private lodge rooms with upgraded amenities. All meals, snacks, s’mores, and an open bar are included. The experience features nightly programming such as silent disco parties, Bubbe’s Beer Garden, color war competitions, and a Shabbat Soirée with interactive Havdalah celebration.
Activities span archery, acrylic pouring, yoga, challah baking, ultimate frisbee, pool parties, Jewish cooking and mixology classes, ceramics workshops, trampoline ball, wine brewing, driving range, pickleball, aerial adventure courses, ziplines, campfire storytelling, Thai massage workshops, and many more options that change yearly. Participants can choose to be as active or relaxed as they prefer, with free time to lounge on docks, use hammocks, and enjoy the Michigan landscape.
The camp is designed to foster community, help attendees meet new friends, and provide a magical escape from daily life. Pricing ranges from $650-$1,140 depending on lodging choice and registration deadline. Registration is 100% refundable through 45 days before the event. Check-in begins Thursday, September 3 at 4:00 pm; camp ends Sunday, September 6 at 1:00 pm. A coach bus option from Chicago is available for an additional fee.
