Unroll the Joy: Simchat Torah with Los Angeles Jewish Health
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Simchat Torah is the most joyful day on the Jewish calendar. It’s the day we finish reading the Torah and immediately start again, celebrating with singing and dancing. Join us at the Grancell Village campus of Los Angeles Jewish Health to bring that joy to residents who can’t fully participate on their own.
As a volunteer, you’ll help with the mitzvah of unrolling the full Torah scroll, hold and dance with the Torahs near residents to bring up the energy, and help roll everything back up at the end. The celebration takes place in the campus Sukkah.
Please arrive by 9:30am to help set up. The program runs 10:00–11:00am and wraps by 11. No experience needed. Just bring your dancing shoes and your ruach!
