Wicker Advance Screening with Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Eleanor Wilson, and Alex Huston Fischer in Conversation with Happy Sad Confused ’s Josh Horowitz

Fresh from a rapturously received premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the stars and creators of Wicker — Academy Award winner Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård with writer/directors Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer — stop by for a special advance screening and conversation with Happy Sad Confused’s Josh Horowitz.

A surreal, wickedly funny fable about love, marriage and the absurdities of social convention, Wicker was greeted at Sundance with two standing ovations and glowing reviews, generating award season buzz before it even hits theaters. Olivia Colman stars as an ostracized fisherwoman living on the fringes of a rigid village society. Fed up with being shunned and the narrow possibilities available to her, she makes an unusual request of the local basketmaker (Peter Dinklage): build her a husband. What arrives is stranger than anyone bargained for. Played by Alexander Skarsgård, her magnificently woven wicker companion possesses a soulful spirit, gentle charm, and certain remarkable talents that quickly turn the village upside down. As the fisherwoman discovers new freedom and pleasure, her neighbors become increasingly consumed by a curiosity and envy that threatens to unravel the social order.

Ahead of its nationwide release, see what all the excitement is about and hear Colman, Skarsgård, Wilson, and Fischer in conversation with Horowitz about creating Wicker’s wonderfully strange world, finding the humanity in its outrageous premise, and making it one of most original cinematic love stories of the year.
