About the Position:

Are you a strategic relationship builder who thrives on connecting people to meaningful impact? The Senior Philanthropic Advisor plays a key role in shaping the Federation’s future by advancing philanthropic support and building trusted, lasting partnerships with donors, prospects, lay leaders, agencies, and community partners.

Serving as both an internal leader and external ambassador, this role focuses on growing support through endowment and planned giving, legacy commitments, and donor-advised funds. Working closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Senior Philanthropic Advisor partners across departments, including Campaign, Finance, Marketing, and Events to align donor passions with organizational priorities.

This position is central to developing new markets, expanding multi-generational giving opportunities, and strengthening relationships that drive donor loyalty and long-term engagement. Through thoughtful stewardship strategies and collaboration across the organization, the Senior Philanthropic Advisor helps secure the Federation’s long-term sustainability and impact for future generations.

What You Will Be Doing:

Donor Cultivation, Solicitation & Stewardship

  • Partner with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects for endowment, planned, supplemental, and annual gifts
  • Conduct donor-centered conversations that align philanthropic interests with Federation priorities
  • Develop stewardship and recognition strategies for endowment donors
  • Support growth and retention of the donor-advised fund (DAF) program through personalized engagement

Endowment, Legacy & Planned Giving Growth

  • Develop strategies to raise awareness of and secure gifts for the Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) and Annual Campaign Endowment (ACE) in partnership with lay leaders and Women’s Philanthropy
  • Identify new markets, high-capacity prospects, and opportunities for transformational and legacy giving
  • Support planned giving and endowment services for partner agencies, synagogues, and community organizations
  • Expand legacy giving participation across generations of donors

Prospect Development & Market Expansion

  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospects for major, planned, endowment, and blended gifts
  • Develop strategies for family giving, next-generation donors, and multi-generational philanthropy
  • Cultivate relationships with volunteer leaders and community partners

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Internal Partnership

  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Annual Campaign, Events, Finance, and Marketing to advance fundraising goals
  • Partner with Marketing on donor stories, newsletters, campaigns, and materials promoting Foundation priorities

Operations, Reporting & Professional Development

  • Track activity, maintain accurate donor records, and ensure timely follow-up through CRM and reporting systems
  • Monitor performance and progress toward fundraising goals
  • Stay current on tax laws, charitable giving trends, and philanthropic best practices through continuing education and professional development

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5–7 years of experience in planned giving, fundraising, or sales with a strong track record of success
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred; knowledge of the Jewish community is a plus
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to engage donors and inspire meaningful philanthropic commitments
  • Experience working with volunteer leaders and navigating volunteer/professional partnerships
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-starter with energy, initiative, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable working with CRM systems
  • Flexible and available to work evenings and weekends as needed

Salary Range: $115,000 – $130,000 per year
