About The 14th Street Y

The Sol Goldman YM-YWHA 14th Street Y is a vibrant Jewish community center located in Downtown Manhattan. Each year, tens of thousands of New Yorkers of all ages, races, and ethnicities come to 14Y as members, visitors, or partners to experience high quality and varied programs centered on health and wellness, education, arts and culture, and civic engagement.

As a Jewish community center, the 14Y is committed to building an inclusive community where Jews, non-Jews, and interfaith families can come together to celebrate Jewish life. The organization provides a variety of opportunities for people to discover, explore, and connect with Jewish life and culture, and partners with the Downtown Jewish Life Network to enrich Jewish living in the neighborhood.

The 14Y is home to a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, an Early Childhood program, after-school and youth programs, New Country Day Camp, and the Theater at the 14th Street Y — which honors the edgy, diverse, and rich history of innovative culture-making in the East Village across two performance spaces.

Grounded in contemporary Jewish sensibilities as a source of inspiration, connection, and learning, the 14Y serves individuals and families throughout downtown Manhattan with the belief that strong communities can transform lives.
