About Edlavitch DCJCC

The Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center (EDCJCC) is a landmark Jewish institution located at 16th and Q Streets in the historic Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. Guided by Jewish values, history, and traditions, the Center builds and strengthens community by engaging individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds through cultural, educational, recreational, and social responsibility programs. Since its original opening in 1926 and dramatic 1997 reopening, the EDCJCC has served as the Jewish community’s address in the nation’s capital.

The Center is home to a wide range of signature programs, including Theater J, one of the country’s leading Jewish theater companies; JxJ, the DC Jewish Film & Music Festival; a state-of-the-art Fitness & Wellness Center and indoor pool; a beloved early childhood preschool; Camp Gadol summer camp; and EntryPointDC, a social and cultural program for Jewish young professionals in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. The Morris Cafritz Center for Social Responsibility, GLOE (LGBTQ+ programming), and Cafritz Adult Enrichment further extend the Center’s reach into arts, inclusion, and lifelong learning.

A member of the JCC Association (JCCA) and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, the EDCJCC welcomes people of all backgrounds to connect, learn, serve, and be entertained together, reflecting its unique role at the center of Jewish life in Washington, DC.
