Federation CJA on Campus

Federation CJA on Campus is a dedicated initiative of Federation CJA, Montreal’s central Jewish federation, created to serve Jewish students at local universities and CEGEPs. It functions as a hub for campus life, connecting students to Jewish events, community programming, and leadership opportunities, and works hand-in-hand with Hillel Montreal to provide a welcoming Jewish home away from home for students.

In response to the rise of antisemitism on campuses since October 7th, Federation CJA established a specialized Campus Advocacy & Relations team, led by a Director of Campus and Advocacy, to support students facing hostility, coordinate safety and security resources, and advocate on their behalf. The team collaborates with Hillel, campus administrations, and law enforcement, offers a student resources guide, documents incidents of hate, and helps organize campus advocacy summits and leadership development opportunities.

As part of the broader Federation CJA family, Federation CJA on Campus draws on the federation’s century-long history of philanthropic and community coordination work in Montreal, tapping into programs like GenMTL, Birthright Israel, and the Jewish Chamber of Commerce to support young Jewish adults through their university years and beyond.
