Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati

Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati (JCGC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed in 2008 that operates 23 of the 26 Jewish cemeteries in the Greater Cincinnati area, comprising 60 acres across seven locations. The organization’s full-time staff, including an Executive Director, Office Manager, and Foreman, along with field personnel, services approximately 150 burials a year while maintaining and improving the cemetery grounds.

JCGC’s mission is to serve the burial needs of the Greater Cincinnati Jewish community with care and dignity, honoring the resting places of the region’s Jewish residents whose history dates back to 1821, when the first recorded Jewish burial in the area took place. The organization’s vision is to serve and engage the entire Jewish community while preserving the history and memory of its people and maintaining long-term financial stability.

Beyond cemetery maintenance, JCGC offers monuments and markers, pre-arrangement planning, and other end-of-life services, as well as community programs such as Jewish cemetery tours, genealogy resources, and storytelling initiatives that preserve family history. The organization also runs giving programs, including a Friends Campaign and legacy gift societies, to support the long-term care of its cemeteries.
