About Jewish Council for Public Affairs

The Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) has served for more than 80 years as the national convener of Jewish coalitions. Those coalitions work to build a just and inclusive democracy. JCPA brings together national and local partners to address pressing public issues, including rising antisemitism, extremism, civil and human rights, and the health of democratic institutions.

JCPA is the umbrella and national hub for the Jewish community relations network. That network includes local Jewish Community Relations Councils (JCRCs) and national Jewish agencies. JCPA convenes, coordinates, builds consensus, and mobilizes its network on key policy issues. It represents the network nationally, working with civic, racial, ethnic, and faith-based leaders and policymakers.

JCPA is headquartered in New York City. Its work includes policy statements, coalition building, public education, reports on online hate, and advocacy on topics such as nonprofit security funding and protecting democratic norms.
