Jewish Family Services of Delaware

Jewish Family Services of Delaware (JFS) is a nonprofit health and human services agency founded in 1899 by a group of Jewish community leaders in Wilmington, originally known as the Hebrew Charity Association. Over 125 years, JFS has grown from an immigrant-aid society into a comprehensive counseling and support agency serving thousands of Delawareans each year across the state.

Guided by the Jewish value that we are all responsible for one another, JFS offers mental health counseling, cancer care support, older adult and dementia care services, refugee resettlement assistance, and crisis response programs. Services are provided to all members of the community regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status.

With offices in Wilmington, Newark, Dover, and Lewes, JFS Delaware serves New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties, aiming to build a mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy community where everyone has equal access to high-quality support and resources.
