About Jewish Federation of Kansas City
The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City has served as the central philanthropic and community-building organization for Kansas City’s Jewish community for over 85 years. With a mission to sustain and enhance Jewish life at home and around the world, the Federation raises and allocates more than $5 million annually to support over 80 programs and initiatives spanning local, national, and overseas needs.
Federation partners with more than 20 local agencies and synagogues to strengthen community life across five core pillars: Safety Net Services, Youth & Family, Jewish Identity & Education, Israel & Overseas, and Community Security. From funding disability-inclusion programs like Sasone to supporting PJ Library, Birthright Israel, and MASA Israel, the Federation ensures that every stage of Jewish life is nurtured and connected.
The Federation’s Young Adults Division (YAD) engages Jewish community members ages 21–45 through educational, social, cultural, and philanthropic programming and events. The Ben Gurion Society (BGS) offers a giving society and exclusive networking and social events for young philanthropists ages 25–45, deepening both community ties and financial commitment to Jewish life.
Holding a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City is committed to full transparency and accountability in how it stewards donor funds, ensuring the most vulnerable members of the community are cared for while inspiring a vibrant Jewish future in Kansas City and beyond.
