About Jewish Home

Founded in 1848, The New Jewish Home has been a fixture of New York eldercare for over 175 years, originally established as a facility for New York’s Jewish population and now serving older adults of all faiths, ethnicities, and income levels. With campuses in Manhattan and Westchester, the organization provides a full continuum of senior health care, including long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, dementia care communities, adult day health care, home health care, hospice, and palliative and pain management services.

The New Jewish Home’s mission is to empower older adults to enhance purpose and well-being through an innovative portfolio of health care services, tailoring care to residents’ languages, traditions, and routines. The organization envisions a society where ageism is eliminated and older adults are embraced as valued community members.

Beyond direct clinical care, The New Jewish Home engages in research and innovation around aging, workforce development for caregivers, and community outreach, including recognition programs such as its ‘Eight Over Eighty’ awards honoring accomplished New Yorkers over the age of 80.
