About Moishe House North Hollywood
Moishe House North Hollywood — affectionately known as MohoNoHo — is the LA RSJ (Russian-Speaking Jews) chapter of the global Moishe House network, located in North Hollywood in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. The house is home to a small group of young Jewish residents who host regular events and gatherings for the broader young Jewish community, with a special emphasis on those with Russian-speaking Jewish heritage.
The house runs a wide variety of programming — from Shabbat dinners and Jewish holiday celebrations to pop-culture-themed events, game nights, painting workshops, dancing, and quirky mashups like ‘Latkes and Vodkas’ and a ‘St. Patrick’s Purim Party.’ The residents are committed to finding fun, creative ways to weave Jewish identity into everyday life and to welcoming Jews of all backgrounds.
Moishe House is a global nonprofit that provides young adults (ages 22–32) with a subsidized living space and a programming budget to create peer-led Jewish community for their peers. The North Hollywood RSJ house is one of several Moishe Houses in the Los Angeles area, and serves young adults living east of the 134 freeway who might not otherwise have easy access to Jewish community programming.
