About Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation

Founded in 1907 as a shelter for 25 indigent men and women, Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation has grown into a nationally recognized, non-profit center for the health care and rehabilitation of adults, based in New Hyde Park, New York. Parker offers a comprehensive network of inpatient and community-based health care programs, including sub-acute/short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing care, palliative care, hospice, certified home health care, adult day care, and telemedicine services through its Parker At Your Door program.

Parker is also a leading academic campus for training health care professionals and an important research center for studies related to aging, serving as a teaching affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and a clinical affiliate of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Rooted in the Jewish communal tradition of caring for elders, the Institute traces its roots to 1907 and continues its historic mission of providing superior quality health care and rehabilitation for adults, with continual improvement of its programs and services to lead in health care delivery and education.
