About Stamford JCC
The Stamford Jewish Community Center (“The J”) was founded in 1916 as The Hebrew Institute. It is a cultural, educational, and recreational hub. It is rooted in Jewish heritage, culture, and traditions, and it welcomes people of all backgrounds.
The J runs a full multipurpose facility at 1035 Newfield Avenue. Programs include fitness and sports, aquatics, preschool and after-school care, enrichment classes, and performing and fine arts. It also runs day camps, and offers Jewish life and learning programming and community events.
Members and neighbors of all ages use the J as a gathering place. It serves young families, teens, adults, and seniors. It is a member of the JCC Association of North America and part of the Greater Stamford Jewish community.
