About Stripes Wine Bar & Cafe

Stripes Wine Bar & Cafe is an industrial-chic coffeehouse, cacao bar, and wine lounge located at 28 E 13th Street near Union Square in Greenwich Village. Founded by Oded Brenner, co-founder of the global Max Brenner chocolate brand, the space began as Blue Stripes Cacao Shop before evolving into today’s all-day cafe and after-dark bar concept, serving specialty coffee, wild hot chocolates, cacao drinks, wine, and cocktails alongside bourekas, pastries, and light bites.

By day, Stripes functions as a laptop-friendly neighborhood cafe with an Israeli-inflected menu and cozy, exposed-brick decor; by night it transforms into an intimate bar and event space featuring live funk and jazz sessions, comedy nights, and DJ-driven parties. Its flexible, high-ceilinged layout has made it a popular rental venue for private parties, corporate mixers, and receptions.

Stripes has also become a fixture on New York’s Jewish and Israeli young-professional social scene, regularly hosting recurring parties such as “House of Chai” and Israeli-music dance nights produced by local Jewish social organizers, drawing crowds across their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Guests can enjoy specialty drinks, happy hour, and themed nights throughout the week, with the space available for private bookings and catering, including kosher menu options.
