About Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom

Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom is Canada’s oldest Reform congregation and Montreal’s third-oldest synagogue, based in Westmount, Quebec. Incorporated in 1883, it is the only Reform congregation in the province of Quebec and has served generations of families through worship, education, and cultural programming.

Today the Temple is a large, inclusive congregation of over a thousand member families, led by Rabbi Lisa J. Grushcow. The community offers Shabbat and holiday services, a religious school (Torah School), adult learning, cultural events, and social action initiatives rooted in Reform Jewish tradition.

Beyond religious services, Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom hosts a full calendar of community gatherings, youth and family programming, and partnerships with local social-justice initiatives in Montreal. Its historic Art Deco sanctuary on Sherbrooke Street West remains a landmark of Jewish life in Westmount and greater Montreal.
