About The Center for Peace Communications
The Center for Peace Communications (CPC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works through media, schools, and centers of spiritual and moral leadership in the Middle East and North Africa to roll back divisive ideologies and foster a mindset of inclusion and engagement. Founded and led by President Joseph Braude, an expert on the nexus of culture and politics in Arab societies, CPC produces original video journalism, curricula, and public advocacy campaigns aimed at building grassroots and elite support for reconciliation in identity-based conflicts, particularly between Arabs and Israelis.
CPC is best known for projects such as ‘Whispered in Gaza,’ a documentary series featuring anonymous interviews with Palestinians in Gaza describing life under Hamas rule, as well as accompanying high school curricula designed to give students a deeper understanding of the region. The organization also publishes newsletters and produces media content distributed across the Arab world to counter extremism and promote a vision of coexistence.
Headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, CPC operates internationally, engaging journalists, educators, and religious figures across the Middle East and North Africa to reshape public discourse around peace and partnership across religious, ethnic, and national lines.
