The Emery/Weiner School

The Emery/Weiner School is a private, pluralistic Jewish, college-preparatory day school located in Houston, Texas, serving students in grades 6-12. Founded in 1978 as the I. Weiner Middle School, the institution grew to fill a gap in Houston’s Jewish educational landscape, eventually becoming the Emery/Weiner School to offer a full middle and high school experience grounded in progressive and pluralistic Judaism.

The school emphasizes a college-preparatory academic curriculum alongside Judaic studies, athletics, and fine arts, with small class sizes and a strong sense of community. It is guided by the value of Kvod HaBriot (human dignity) and places importance on cultural programming that celebrates diversity within its Jewish community.

Emery/Weiner is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and is affiliated with the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston. The school offers robust experiential learning, athletics (including TAPPS state championship programs), clubs and activities, and a modern campus with facilities including a gymnasium, football stadium, and student center.
