The Shine Foundation is a Jewish nonprofit based in New York City, guided by the belief that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and care. Its work is rooted in the Jewish values of tzedakah and chesed, and it welcomes women and families of every background, faith, and identity.
Its flagship program is a boutique-style showroom where widows and survivors of domestic violence, along with their families, receive brand-new clothing, footwear, coats, toiletries, kitchenware, household products and infant necessities. Each woman is guided by a personal shopper and chooses the items she needs, with the aim of restoring a sense of self-worth and hope.
The Shine Foundation helps women and children rebuild after widowhood, domestic violence, and other life-altering circumstances. Its motto is “Let the smiles shine through.” It is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
