About Westchester Jewish Community Services

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), founded in 1943, is one of the largest not-for-profit human service organizations in Westchester County, NY and the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services in the county. WJCS serves more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds each year through over 100 programs spanning mental health and substance use treatment, trauma assistance, disability services, child and family development, and senior care.

WJCS operates across Westchester through four standalone mental health clinics, schools, satellite clinics, community centers, and synagogue partnerships, as well as its White Plains headquarters. Its mission is to help individuals overcome emotional, social, educational, vocational, disability, and spiritual challenges so they can lead lives with strength, resilience, and confidence.

Among its specialized programs, WJCS Center Lane is the only Westchester center dedicated to LGBTQIA+ youth, and WJCS Center for Jewish Programs — often called the ‘411 and 911 for the Jewish community’ — partners with 40+ synagogues, day schools, Jewish early childhood centers, and senior living facilities throughout Westchester to provide educational, spiritual, and recreational services across the lifespan.

As a non-sectarian organization, WJCS welcomes people of all backgrounds and faiths, combining Jewish values of tikkun olam with evidence-based, state-of-the-art care to strengthen individuals, families, and the broader Westchester community.
