Westside Jews

Westside Jews is a young adults group for those in their 20s, 30s and beyond, catered to those seeking social and cultural Jewish experiences on the Westside of Los Angeles. Co-founded by Rabbi Alex Kress and Rabbi Daniel Sher while both were at Kehillat Israel in Pacific Palisades, the community was created to address a gap in programming for young Jewish adults in the area.

Today Westside Jews is jointly hosted by Kehillat Israel, a Reconstructionist congregation in Pacific Palisades, and Beth Shir Shalom, a Reform congregation in Santa Monica, offering a welcoming, low-barrier environment where Jews can meet one another. Programming ranges widely, from happy hours and comedy club nights to Shabbat dinners and other social gatherings.

The group is geared toward anyone who wants to socialize and connect Jewishly on LA’s Westside, with new members welcomed via a simple sign-up form and ongoing updates shared through its Instagram account.
