Our 7-day jaunt through Colombia shows you the best of both worlds for this vibrant and hospitable country! An itinerary with both “the city of eternal spring”, Medellin, cradled in the mountains and the coastal gem of Cartagena shining near the sea. You’ll find Colombia’s slogan is as accurate as they come, “Colombia, where the only risk is wanting to stay.”
Welcome to Medellin! Take our provided, private transportation to your accommodations from the airport, settle in, then get ready for our provided welcome dinner in the heart of Medellin!
Breakfast is provided at our lodging before heading off to explore the city! First, we visit the historic neighborhood Comuna 13. Formerly considered the most dangerous neighborhood of Medellin, this community on a mountainside has undergone a massive transformation and is now famous for street art, views of the city and for being a symbol of the social progress of Medellin and Colombia as a whole.
After lunch, we drink COFFEE. Learn the process behind the legendary drink and, of course, drink to your heart's content.
That evening we take dinner in the bustling neighborhood of El Poblado. After dinner, turn it in for some sleep or go experience the top-notch nightlife.
Today we're going on a short road trip! We visit the Piedra del Peñol. A nearly 700 foot, giant rock with sweeping views of the Peñol-Guatapé reservoir. Make the trek to the top and take in miles of Colombian terrain. (note: the hike is ~700 stair steps to the top with no access to elevators or motorized assistance. Extremely doable, but something to consider for your personal abilities!)
After our hike, we visit Guatapé. Commonly known as "Colombia's most colorful town." This charming lakeside village has cobblestone streets and vibrant painted buildings. We sit down to take lunch, grab a picture or two, and do some shopping!
After making our return to Medellin, we once again venture our for dinner and a night on the town.
We say a tearful goodbye to Medellin and hop on a plane bound for the coast. Cartagena! Note: the airfare from Medellin to Cartagena is included in the trip cost.
After arriving and settling in, we head for dinner and get acquainted with our new Colombian home.
After a calm morning, join us for a hands on Colombian cooking class! Overlooking Cartagena and the sea, this experience explores Colombian culture in an authentic (and tasty!) way.
After our lunch, the afternoon is free for you to jump in the hotel pool, shop, or take some recovery time in your room!
That evening we grab sunset rooftop drinks and explore Cartagena's nightlife!
