Costa Rica Rainforest

Arrival by 1PM into San Jose Airport. Take private transportation to our home for the trip: A self-sustaining, boutique hotel with extensive views of Costa Rica's stunning landscapes. Volcanoes, mountains, the Juan Castro Blanco National Park, and the San Carlos Valley can all be seen from our lodging.

After welcome drinks in the evening, we will have a dinner prepared by our wonderful hosts! We settle in and prepare for the rest of our stay.

Note: having a hard time finding flights that arrive by 1pm? Consider arriving a night early and staying near the airport. It is safe, affordable, and most hotels provide free shuttles to and from the airport.

Today we venture to one of Cost Rica's most spectacular sites of waterfalls. The Blue Falls of Costa Rica offer several waterfalls and swimming holes to view. Take a hike with us as we explore the property and take a dip in the BLUE waters. We stop to picnic in nature and take in the serene surroundings. This hike is rated as beginner level to moderate. Hiking shoes are suggested and travelers should be prepared for the hike.

After our active morning, we head back to our lodge where you have the option for a guided yoga practice, go for a hike, or to relax by the infiniti pool and jacuzzi in paradise.

Today, we head to La Fortuna, home of the world famous Arenal Volcano. Here, we'll experience breathtaking sites, and have a brush with nature.

Ready for a thrill? We go Ziplining in the canopy of the rain forest! Want to take it to the next level? You have the option of participating in a Tarzan swing! George of the Jungle will never have felt so real.

After lunch, you have the chance to explore La Fortuna. Have some coffee and ice cream or buy souvenirs to take with you.

In the afternoon, we'll relax in a local, natural hot spring. The water is heated by the magma of Arenal volcano, allowing us to experience living off the Costa Rican landscape.

We will conclude this adventurous day by heading back to the lodge for another delicious, home cooked meal.

After a beautiful breakfast at Finca 360, we are White Water Rafting! This class 2/3 experience is the perfect amount of thrill and chill. With moments of adrenaline, mixed with easy coasting and wildlife spotting. Not your adventure? Skip the rafting and take an optional hike of a nearby nature reserve with one of our hosts instead.

For lunch and the afternoon, we spend time at a local eco-organic farm and coffee producer. This local, family operation is committed to teaching future generations practical, environmentally friendly methods for producing traditional crops. See their process from plant to final product. Of course, we will get to try PLENTY of the delicious Costa Rican coffee!

That evening we say goodbye at our farewell dinner.

Sadly, our trip has come to an end. We wake up and make our way back to San Jose. Flights should be booked after 1pm.

Note: Having a tough time finding flights that depart after 1pm? We aim to arrive at the airport by 10:30am on the last day. As such, some travelers have booked ~12:30pm departures and have had no trouble making their flight. Please feel free to also do this. But, please be aware that no special departures/arrivals will be accommodated by our group bus. We will always aim to arrive by 10:30am to the airport.
