Overview
We’re thrilled to be offering our culinary-focused tour: Flavors of Italy! On this experiential tour, you’ll be visiting cheese aging vaults, hand-making pasta and hunting for truffles in the Italian Countryside.
We will be offering two departures of this trip; The Meatless Italian Experience (Vegetarian & Pescatarian) September 12-21, and The Full Italian Experience (I Eat Everything including pork) September 19-28.
Some of our amazing experiences will include:
- A traditional Umbrian cooking class – yes, there will be pasta-making!
- Visit a local family-run olive oil mill
- Dine at a Michelin star restaurant in Norcia
- Go truffle hunting in Norcia with a local truffle hunter and his expert dogs
- Learn how Parmigiano Reggiano is produced, tour the aging vaults and taste the cheese
- Tour the medieval town of Siena and historic Bologna
- Meet wine producers and enjoy lunch in a vineyard among the vines
- Learn about the Chianti wine region from a sommelier
- Spend time with a young woman who started her own farm specializing in goat farming and cheese production
- Bake your own Tuscan flatbread, “schiacciata” in a wood-fired oven
- Visit a family-run Florentine cattle farm and enjoy an Italian countryside cookout
- See the intricate mosaics of Ravenna and make your own mosaic in a hands-on workshop

- On this tour, we can accommodate travelers who are vegetarians, pescatarians, and those who eat everything! Yes, for those who eat everything, you will have the opportunity to taste regional specialties which include wild boar and prosciutto. When in Italy!
- This tour is not for those who have dietary requirements such as dairy-free or gluten-free diets.
